Abby, played by Demi Moore, is preparing to become a mother alongside her lawyer husband, Russell (Michael Biehn). However, as she approaches childbirth, disturbing nightmares begin to plague her. Feeling isolated and hopeless, she believes the answer lies in renting out a garage room to the mysterious Bannon (Jürgen Prochnow), an action that appears to trigger a catastrophic sequence of events connected to both her pregnancy and Russell’s legal case concerning a young man accused of killing his father. As Abby's dreams grow clearer, she comes to suspect she is experiencing a recreation of "Revelation," with the number seven appearing as a troubling sign. The underlying premise holds promise, but the acting is disappointing; Moore seems unengaged, Prochnow delivers a stiff performance that makes him resemble a background character in a horror film, and Biehn’s role feels purely superficial. The plot drags on before becoming engaging, and the ending feels hurried and unsatisfying. Director Carl Schultz might have achieved better results by choosing a less prominent actress and assembling a more capable ensemble cast to allow this story about humanity's destiny to unfold with greater subtlety and less melodrama. It is something you could pass the time with, but it’s unlikely to stick in your memory for long.
