While "The Sea Beast" uses recognizable plot elements, Chris Williams has created one of the strongest animated films released this year. The animation itself is remarkably well-done and distinguishes itself from other aspects of the production, particularly given how much water appears in nearly every scene. A sweeping musical score enhances the film as characters experience arcs that are both concise and meaningful, presenting important ideas about appreciating different viewpoints and openly embracing shifts in what we believe, alongside the clear message of not making assumptions based on appearances. The voice acting is superb across the board, with Zaris-Angel Hator being particularly noteworthy. The monster action sequences are highly enjoyable for audiences of all ages. I wholeheartedly suggest it as a movie to watch with your family. Rating: B+
