The film doesn’t quite live up to what was anticipated from Edgar Wright and the original story, despite serving as a decent showcase for Glen Powell’s abilities and touching on ideas that had the possibility of being truly thought-provoking. Recurring plot elements, overt explanations of its points, and a disappointing resolution hold it back from becoming a lasting dystopian thriller. It's watchable and agreeable enough, but doesn't deliver on the sense of importance and power it seemed to be aiming for. What remains is the feeling that even within a completely manipulated and exploitative display, the spirit of resistance and optimism can’t be controlled or suppressed. Rating: C+
