This was truly awful. I initially wondered if there might be some enjoyment to be had in the beginning, but as time passed, it simply became increasingly nonsensical. The film seems completely unsure of its own narrative or intended style. Is it a dystopian story? A comedy? Some sort of combination recalling films like *Crank*, *Gamer*, and *Scott Pilgrim*? It has the distinct impression of haphazardly combining various appealing elements into something resembling an unappetizing dish. While the 1980s certainly produced many strange and poorly made movies, they at least possessed a sense of purpose. There was effort involved; there was an understanding of how to employ sarcasm effectively, how to develop suspense, and how to successfully merge a bleak dystopian atmosphere with touches of humor. This movie lacks any of those qualities. It’s just more material churned out by Hollywood, which seems to have devolved into a factory for producing junk.
