Completely captivating. The overwhelmingly positive response to this movie is understandable – it’s truly exceptional! *The Revenant* might not be consistently suspenseful, but it remains an incredibly powerful experience as you witness Hugh Glass' ordeal. It's quite brutal and violent, though there are also several well-executed action scenes. Leonardo DiCaprio is easily among my favorite actors; he’s simply a phenomenal performer – I haven’t encountered a single disappointing movie with him in it. I wouldn’t even claim this is his finest work, which is quite something considering how outstanding he is here. Besides DiCaprio, Tom Hardy also appears in the film. He delivers as always, because that's what I expect from him. Both actors are excellent together. Hardy plays John Fitzgerald, and does so wonderfully. However, his character’s introduction isn't entirely smooth – it's not badly written at all, he just feels a little inconsistent early on. The way the narrative explains Fitzgerald’s presence could have been stronger, that’s a minor point though. Another small issue I had was with the ending; there’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but personally, I think things could have wrapped up about 10 to 15 minutes sooner – a scene involving horses, reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino's style, would have made for a more exciting final image. Overall, everything is beautifully presented visually; from a director’s perspective, it’s superb. A truly wonderful film, definitely one worth seeing!
