I really wanted to like this movie. The premise was so interesting – a group of friends accidentally stumble upon some kind of ancient artifact and then things get weird. But honestly? It just didn’t work for me. The characters were pretty bland, I never felt any connection to them, and their reactions to the increasingly bizarre events happening around them seemed totally unbelievable. Like, they'd find a glowing, pulsating rock in their basement and be like, "Oh well, guess I'll go make some toast." It was frustrating because you could tell what they were *trying* to do – create this sense of unsettling mystery and dread – but it just fell flat. The pacing felt off too; there were long stretches where nothing seemed to happen, followed by these rushed, chaotic bursts of action that didn’t really make any sense. I kept waiting for something amazing to happen, some big payoff, but it never arrived. It's not a terrible movie, exactly, just profoundly disappointing given the potential. Maybe someone else will find more enjoyment in it than I did, but for me, it was a total miss.
