The officer known as "Rama" (Iko Uwais), seemingly recovered from past trauma three years prior, discovers that the criminals he previously dealt with were just a small part of a larger network, and now his family is targeted for retribution by powerful figures. To protect them, he must infiltrate a group of violent drug traffickers and corrupt officials—some within the police department itself—adopting the persona of "Yuda." His mission starts in prison where he attempts to gain favor with “Uco” (Arifin Petra), the cunning son of a criminal leader whose previous sense of morality had maintained order. Through this, Rama hopes to uncover who is threatening his family. Simultaneously, shifts within this dangerous group could disrupt existing alliances and trigger widespread conflict. The initial "Raid" film distinguished itself through its confined, oppressive atmosphere; however, this installment expands the action into more expansive locations, diminishing that sense of pressure. While the physical feats are remarkable and the fight sequences are skillfully choreographed, the narrative feels familiar and predictable. It attempts to develop a plot, but it’s easily overshadowed by recurring action set pieces that render the martial arts as intense as a ballet performed in blood-soaked jeans. The film's length is excessive; trimming an hour would improve pacing considerably. Uwais possesses undeniable charm, and the direction provides intimate views of the fighting, yet the constant barrage of violence—a man hurled against a wall, rooms filled with wreckage—begins to feel monotonous. It doesn’t measure up to the original film from 2011, unfortunately.
