It’s clear that Estevez set out to create a film offering political and cultural observations that feel particularly relevant at this moment, and it's apparent he approached the project with sincerity and conviction. The writing, though, is disappointingly simplistic, which prevents the movie from truly engaging viewers as it aims for broad acceptance and easy understanding. It’s still recommendable, primarily to appreciate the performances of those involved and to spark conversations about the issues explored—which seem to run deeper than what's presented on screen.
