I wasn’t initially won over, but after a second viewing, I can confidently say that The Proposal is an excellent romantic comedy! My first time seeing it in cinemas when it was released, I didn't find it particularly memorable. However, upon revisiting the film, I'm struggling to recall my initial reservations. Throughout the rewatch, I found myself genuinely laughing and feeling emotionally invested. The scene with the dog and eagle was especially funny! Both Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are experienced performers in romantic comedies, and they demonstrate their expertise here. Reynolds’ sharp humor and Bullock’s comedic timing work very well together. The performances of the other actors and the unusual premise involving a contrived marriage arrangement contribute to what makes this film stand out, placing it among the best examples of its kind.
