It’s an enjoyable film, though I don't foresee a repeat viewing, and I can still suggest it to others. This falls into that category of movies that feel like they originated from a dare—like someone wagered Vanessa Hudgens couldn’t replicate the appeal of “Freaky Friday” with Lindsay Lohan or "The Princess Diaries" with Anne Hathaway, and then another person needed something for holiday programming. Most of the supporting cast is adequate, but Mia Lloyd stands out; however, it seems straightforward to cast a capable, energetic child actor in the role of a capable, energetic kid. The plot is uncomplicated, even if it feels somewhat contrived. It’s reasonably funny, including the less-than-perfect British accents, but ultimately doesn't leave much of an impression.
