The visual aspects of this film are truly impressive; the set design in particular creates a convincing sense of place, making you feel present with the characters. I appreciated the costume designs as well—they were clearly chosen to highlight the distinction between royalty and everyone else. The performances were wonderful; the actors felt like genuine people rather than just playing roles. It’s easy to find something relatable in either Stacy or Margaret, whether it's an appreciation for careful planning or a preference for spontaneity. I didn't notice any problems with how the story unfolded—it moved along at a comfortable pace. My one significant issue was that certain events felt contrived and unexplained; things just seemed to happen without logical cause. There’s a character who consistently appears exactly when needed, which isn't addressed, and scenes involving characters standing under mistletoe that seems to materialize out of thin air struck me as unrealistic. While I understand this is fiction, it feels like the other characters are portrayed as overly naive because they don't question unusual behavior from Stacy or Margaret. They do show moments of doubt, but these concerns are quickly dismissed. It reminded me of A Christmas Prince; I’m fairly certain the same writer was involved, as there are quite a few parallels between the two princes. Overall, this film is enjoyable for fans of romantic comedies and even those who aren't typically drawn to that genre. I would rate The Princess Switch a 7/10.
