This wasn’t an enjoyable film, and I doubt I’ll revisit it, nor can I suggest it unless you're a dedicated Vanessa Hudgens fan or really like the familiar elements of "Freaky Friday." It's clear that Vanessa Hudgens put in considerable effort, but the plot is convoluted. The characters themselves acknowledge their confusion about what’s happening. Introducing this relative diminishes the original movie's premise—the wonder of someone resembling another person so closely—and it isn't particularly funny either. The initial film combined "Freaky Friday" with "Princess Diaries," but this installment incorporates aspects of "The Hustle" to introduce a criminal storyline, involving serious offenses like abduction and international dealings. A very particular audience will find enjoyment in this. There are things to appreciate, certainly, yet the main draw is also its biggest flaw: it could have been decent if they’d just stuck with a straightforward body-swap scenario.
