The Princess Bride centers on various forms of love—a grandfather’s affection for his grandson, Inigo Montoya’s devotion to his deceased father, and the connection between Buttercup and Wesley. It feels like a classic fairy story in some ways, but its creativity, cleverness, and humor set it apart from typical stories. The characters are charming and vital to what happens. The film's rhythm ebbs and flows effectively, and the dialogue is delightful, full of playful language and concepts. This remarkable story celebrates human kindness; I gained a lot from it when I was younger, and I still revisit it occasionally as a reminder of the good that exists in people and our capacity to overcome difficulties. The Princess Bride manages to be both conventional and unconventional, which explains why I’ll always cherish it. It earns a perfect score from me. My only reservation is that it focuses too much on male characters, which remains an issue with many movies and television shows. However, Buttercup is considerably stronger than most princesses seen in children's entertainment. This film has something to offer both adults and kids. Did someone say stop? As you wish x
