"The Presidio" presents a captivating initial scene that’s both striking and attention-grabbing due to its explosive nature, yet the story's momentum soon diminishes as events unfold. The death of Patti Jean Lynch feels rushed and loses any real sense of importance, ultimately becoming less central to the narrative. Instead, the film shifts its emphasis toward exploring the complicated and often contentious relationships between Lieutenant Colonel Caldwell, his daughter Donna, and Inspector Jay Austin, all while the murder investigation continues in the background. Despite this, the movie doesn't quite live up to the potential of its impressive cast, though the action set pieces are exceptionally well done and the film’s rhythm remains consistently strong.
