It isn’t flawless—a few adjustments to the production and the actress would have been beneficial—but this is a remarkable noir film, absolutely deserving of being found and watched on blu-ray, as I recently did when it was discounted and came with bonus content; particularly noteworthy are the extensive documentaries detailing the lives and careers of Lana Turner and John Garfield, both of which included significant contributions from their daughters. It's vital viewing for those who appreciate films from that era, and its value extends to repeat viewings for noir enthusiasts or admirers of either performer.
