Following the death of his daughter on her honeymoon, a grieving detective named “Kanon” (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) becomes involved in the inquiry. He soon finds out – with the help of Swedish reporter "Dessie" (Cush Jumbo) – that this isn’t an isolated incident, even though the person responsible stages the victims to resemble elements from well-known artworks. Simultaneously, Naomi Battrick and Ruairi O'Connor are traveling across Europe by train when they meet “Pieter” (Dylan Devonald-Smith), a large man with tattoos. Could they be facing similar peril? The narrative contains several unexpected developments, and if it had been handled differently with a stronger ensemble, the outcome might have been more satisfying; however, as things stand, the story's most intriguing elements are underdeveloped. It moves at a sluggish pace, and the performances and writing – generally speaking – aren’t particularly impressive. There is some pleasant scenery to be seen, but I struggled to connect with “Kanon,” even given his personal loss, or with his wife "Valerie" (Famke Janssen), who doesn't get enough screen time. It functions as a typical television movie that fills an hour, and not much else.
