It’s disappointing to see how much potential was squandered in "The Pickup," as the final product suffers from a clear absence of imagination and effort, leading to its shortcomings across nearly every aspect. Even with performers who seemed capable of more and a few fleetingly interesting ideas, the film remains bogged down by familiar plot developments, jokes that don’t quite land, and an overall feeling of hollowness – making it difficult to recommend investing the time. Unless you have a strong personal connection to someone connected to this production, it's probably best to look elsewhere for entertainment. Rating: D
