Working once more alongside Sophie Fiennes, "The Pervert's Guide to Ideology" builds upon the earlier documentary "The Pervert's Guide to Cinema." Even though it’s a sequel, the program proves just as powerful, and perhaps even more so, because of its constant stream of concepts. Within this film, Zizek blends psychoanalytic language with examples from movies—some obscure, others well-known—to examine ideology and the deceptive nature of beliefs. The final impression is that the documentary has become a collection of clever remarks taken directly from Zizek’s own thoughts.
