A charming and pleasant movie. It’s nearly as good as the 1961 version, which might be a bit better, but both are wonderful films nonetheless. The 1998 adaptation of *'The Parent Trap'* has Lindsay Lohan playing the twin characters; she does a great job as Hallie and Annie. I would have preferred Hayley Mills from the earlier film for those roles, however, it was still an outstanding choice of actors. It’s difficult to choose between the performances of the parents too, with Dennis Quaid (as Nick) and Natasha Richardson (as Liz) both doing well – their on-screen connection feels genuine, which is essential. Elaine Hendrix (Meredith) and Lisa Ann Walter (Chessy) also deliver solid performances in this 1998 remake. The cinematography and other technical aspects are noteworthy. Like the original movie, it could have benefited from a slightly shorter length. That said, it’s very enjoyable to watch. I would suggest seeing it.
