The narrative setup of The Painter feels excessively far-fetched to be believable. While I recognize this as a standard action movie, it’s hard to accept the idea of a noticeably pregnant woman pursuing a dangerous criminal, only for her to sustain a gunshot wound to her abdomen. If one can overlook that implausibility—something I personally found difficult to do—the remainder of the film offers unremarkable action sequences featuring adequate fight choreography and shooting. Ultimately, the script’s absurdities hold it back. The action is acceptable but not particularly exciting. It's a pretty straightforward viewing experience, as far as I can tell.
