I had high hopes for this movie, especially since I remember really enjoying the book in high school. It’s a genuinely well-crafted horror story. However, this version felt like watching a silent film from the 1930s—there's no dialogue to clarify events. This ended up making what should have been an anticipated release feel pretentious. It's disappointing, honestly.
