Wow, what a movie! *The Outfit* is really great. It’s the second time in about three weeks that I’ve gotten to see Mark Rylance in a film at the cinema, and he doesn't disappoint – he’s such a dependable performer. The other one was *The Phantom of the Open*, which is quite good, but this film and Rylance’s work here are better. It was really enjoyable watching him as Leonard Burling. It begins incredibly well with an amazing first scene featuring Rylance's Burling, so I was hoping it would maintain that quality, and thankfully – at least in my view – it certainly did. There's a section towards the end that gave me pause initially, but after thinking about it more, I liked it just as much as everything else. One thing about this 2022 film remains consistent throughout, and I won’t say what it is, but at first, I worried it might restrict things, though if anything, it simply contributes to the overall feel of the movie. The supporting actors are all unfamiliar faces, yet everyone gives solid performances; Johnny Flynn and Nikki Amuka-Bird particularly stood out.
