It’s enjoyable enough to rewatch and I can certainly suggest it. Essentially, this is a standard “coming of age” film centered around the familiar high school social groups battling for dominance. What elevates it above other similar movies is the quality of the acting. The cast members seem to be performing at a level beyond what might be expected, and I’ve noticed many of them from various projects. Eden Sher, known for “The Middle,” has perfected an energetic and cheerful persona; watching her perform would be akin to endlessly enjoying videos of playful puppies. Victoria Justice, who starred in "Victorious," possesses a strong personality that complements Eden's exuberance while also demonstrating the ability to develop her character believably. Ashley Rickards, familiar from “Awkward,” surprisingly displays her acting abilities through portraying a reserved and somewhat restrained character, serving as a sort of foil to the others. Peyton List, recognized from "Jessie / Bunk'd," has a smaller part, but I appreciate that she isn’t playing a stereotypical unintelligent role this time. The supporting cast also delivers excellent performances overall. I wished it had gone further; there’s untapped potential here, though I am unsure what could have transformed a high school narrative like this into something exceptional. Regardless, it's a worthwhile viewing experience if you don’t mind the usual tropes of high school drama.
