The story unfolds within a weathered and crumbling windmill, showcasing the lively community of animals that have moved in after people disappeared. Birds find food together, doves settle down, and a knowledgeable owl finds refuge inside. Bats rest among the beams, waiting for darkness and the start of the frogs’ nighttime songs—a chorus of tweets and chirps. Luckily, the wind returns, causing the old building to groan and creak back into motion, much to the annoyance of those living there, as the machinery remains in working order. A storm arrives, bringing leaks, noises, and howls, creating the impression that the whole structure might collapse. When the weather subsides, the windmill stands upright once more, though its future is uncertain. It’s touching to witness how swiftly nature repossesses what humans create, whether for their own purposes or simply through patience. I didn't care for the lengthy vocal performance at the end, but overall it was a pleasant film to experience.
