There were instances where _The Night Clerk_ appeared promising, however, as the film progressed, and particularly with its resolution, it became apparent that any possibility of success was, to be charitable, wasted. The narrative manages to accomplish only about three distinct events throughout its duration, and each of these has been executed more effectively—not simply at any point in history, but recently, within the last couple of years. Achieving a higher standard than _The Night Clerk_ isn't difficult. Final rating:★★ - It contained elements I found appealing, despite being an ultimately disappointing work.
