It's possible that this is my absolute favorite “Tom and Jerry” short film because it blends their playful chaos with a feeling that even Charles Dickens would appreciate. As Christmas approaches and snow falls, "Jerry" leaves his home to look at the presents intended for the humans, only to encounter his familiar foe. For once, he doesn't manage to outsmart "Tom," and finds himself freezing outside while a fire blazes warmly inside. Could it be that “Tom” experiences some sort of moral dilemma and perhaps feels sorry for his shivering friend? The music skillfully combines mischievousness with seasonal choral elements, and I’ve always enjoyed cartoons featuring snow. If this doesn't evoke a touch of warmth, I really don’t know…. God bless us, every one!
