I was pleasantly surprised by how good this turned out to be; I’ll probably watch it again and suggest others check it out too. Going in, my hopes weren't high at all—I wasn't impressed with the preview. I believed they were mishandling "The New Warriors," which was my fault, and I didn't realize a character had been reimagined as female. (Moonstar is essentially another male character from “The Initiative” in Marvel Comics.) A genuinely puzzling aspect that’s never explained is the nature of the facility itself: who manages it, and what its purpose is. There are no easy answers to these questions during the chaos that unfolds, which I consider a significant flaw; however, if you aren't overly observant, you might not even pick up on it. The characters prove to be more compelling than they initially appear, and I found myself genuinely surprised at times—they’re really what carry the film. It’s their development as a group, along with their individual challenges, that makes this movie worthwhile. After a while, there's a considerable amount of action, presented in a visually striking way with well-choreographed fights and some underlying significance to it all. If you enjoy stories featuring people with superpowers and fighting, I recommend giving this one a try.
