The film’s initial promise faded considerably about halfway through. The beginning felt like a standard movie, and then it seemed as though even the writer wasn't sure where the story was going, simply making things up as they went along. The writing became quite disorganized. What started with interesting characters ultimately amounted to very little by the end. I’ve never been particularly impressed by this director’s work; his films are generally unremarkable, but this one is easily his weakest yet. I'm not against art house cinema, but I dislike scenes that don’t move the plot forward, and this film had far too many of them. If those unnecessary portions were removed, the movie would probably only run about forty-five minutes. The rest felt like an abundance of music, flashy visuals, and often completely pointless moments, which really led to boredom. The times when there was actual storytelling—dialogue and character development—seemed promising. However, these good parts were then interrupted by those extraneous, silent sequences that turned me off. The ending in particular was truly awful. Elle’s character felt well-suited for the actress; Keanu Reeves, on the other hand, seemed to be there purely as a promotional tactic that didn't quite work out. It centers around a young woman hoping to become a model who finds herself facing envy from those around her due to her rapid success. The film explores what happens between these people and within the fashion industry. It’s an okay movie, but it becomes tedious primarily after the midpoint. Ultimately, I don't believe most viewers will find it fulfilling; perhaps a tiny number might enjoy it, but for the majority, it’s not worth recommending. 3/10
