Greg Keller and Maria Dizzia portray a couple who, while looking out from their apartment one night, observe some rather explicit activity happening in the building across the street. Instead of averting their gaze and ignoring it, they find themselves increasingly drawn into what's occurring. It wasn’t solely the sexual content – they have children of their own, so that isn’t particularly surprising – but also the general behavior and gatherings of those neighbors that seemed to hold them spellbound, leaving me feeling like a bit of an intrusive observer. Later, when she is alone in her apartment one day, something she sees prompts her to go across the street and connect with the other person involved. The concept itself has potential, but the performances aren't particularly strong, and more significantly, neither is the script. It appears intent on manufacturing conflict among those watching, only for them to then cautiously reconcile or acknowledge their shared fascination with this unfolding real-life spectacle – eventually using binoculars – which brings back memories of their own earlier years. Ultimately, this drama feels quite ordinary, and I suppose the takeaway should be: close your blinds!
