Having experienced difficulties in 1931, Laurel and Hardy resolve to reorganize their business ventures, setting out with just a few dollars to start a piano delivery service using horse-drawn carts. Transporting such an instrument proves challenging – even for Ollie – and as they try to maneuver it into its new home on Walnut Avenue, it’s clear that if the piano reaches its destination at all, it will be about as helpful as fire guards are to chocolate. An encounter with a children's nurse while ascending a staircase reminiscent of an Italian palazzo sends them back to square one and draws the attention of a local police officer, who also contributes to preventing the piano from reaching its intended location. A stereotypical eccentric professor appears before they end up getting soaked, and beyond that, you can probably imagine how things unfold. The plot is entirely foreseeable, but the duo provides plenty of amusement as their troubles pile up and their frustration grows – particularly when a postal worker delivers news that could have prevented all the trouble; they naively alter course, and soon it's not just the piano that’s in jeopardy. There’s some dialogue near the conclusion, but largely this relies on facial expressions, hat adjustments, and classic slapstick comedy.
