The movie features John Carradine in a delightfully unhinged performance as "Yousef Bey," who has received instructions from divine powers to resurrect the mummified body of “Kharis” – played by Lon Chaney Jr., though anyone could have filled the role – and reunite him with Princess Ananka, seemingly reborn as "Amina" (Ramsey Ames, who is certainly striking but also rather stiff). It’s up to Robert Lowery, portraying “Tom,” to prevent Carradine's escalating schemes and those of his preserved assistant. I found it entertaining enough, though there isn't much genuinely worthwhile about it; the action sequences are as awkward as Chaney attempting a cha-cha dance, and so is the writing. Aside from Carradine’s expressive eyes and some moments with George Zucco in the role of the contemporary High Priest, the film would be easily forgotten.
