It feels like what the first Rambo film might have been if his character had the option to walk away and possessed a support network. The story explores themes of law enforcement exceeding their authority, alongside America’s peculiar interest in its veterans and the unofficial legal structures that arise within groups of former military personnel. It's not a poorly made film; I found it engaging despite leaving me with considerable discomfort regarding the American judicial process. The events depicted feel strikingly pertinent and realistic. Liam Neeson delivers a performance far surpassing anything else on screen, although his acting is largely limited to interactions with a disembodied voice coming from inside a vehicle, which brought to mind Night Rider. I believe this movie will likely be enjoyable for viewers; it was for me.
