It's an acceptable film; I don’t foresee a repeat viewing, though I could suggest it to others. I anticipated this would be a Dreamworks production, so seeing Sony as the lead studio was unexpected. The narrative of this robot-themed apocalypse felt like a strange mix of familiar animated films—those featuring robots, fractured families, and conflicts between companies. Although these are all solid components on their own, putting them together with the movie’s unique touches didn't quite work for me. I was able to accept what I was seeing, but my suspension of disbelief faltered somewhat due to some silly actions by the human characters compared to the logical and impressive things the robots were doing. The film is visually appealing and technically sound, yet the story and characters left something to be desired.
