The Miracle Club delivers a surprising impact, though it doesn’t entirely succeed as envisioned—at least in my view. It takes on a darker tone than anticipated, and the characters visibly carry considerable emotional weight; that's just a play on words about the promotional material. I did find that aspect worthwhile. Maggie Smith appears in what is billed as her last film performance, with Laura Linney, Kathy Bates, and Agnes O’Casey also playing significant roles. The acting isn’t exceptional or poor across the board, although Linney seemed somewhat less impactful than the others; it might just be a deliberate restraint on her part. Bates manages to make the biggest impression, regardless. There's sincerity in what the story tries to convey, but I'm not convinced that everything is resolved as neatly as the film wants you to believe with its ending. I personally feel Daniel’s storyline could have been handled differently. There are certainly some solid elements present, though. It’s unremarkable, but acceptable.
