The film held my interest as long as it lasted – I appreciated seeing characters who lacked autonomy and recollections come together to establish a community and find a way to escape their confinement. However, the narrative just ceased abruptly at its conclusion. There wasn't any significant reason given for where things ended, nor was there an explanation regarding the motivations of those who held them captive. Even within a continuing series, a movie should generally provide some sense of closure; consider, for instance, Katniss and Peeta’s victory in the Hunger Games.
