It’s visually striking and has an intriguing idea at its heart. The film explores a future where artificial intelligence controls everything and manipulates people, which feels particularly relevant right now. The basic notion of a simulated reality is really interesting and seems carefully considered. The way the story unfolded was impressive, blending well-executed fight sequences with grand visuals. The action itself held my attention and had a certain flair. My one reservation involves some of the combat; it occasionally felt exaggerated, like when Neo and his opponent were suspended in midair (clearly using wires). Perhaps this was intended as an homage to older Hong Kong martial arts films, which would be neat if so, but it did detract from the impact of otherwise good action. I’d suggest seeing it if you're looking for a clever and entertaining film.
