It wasn’t quite as impressive as my memory suggested, but it remains an enjoyable film to watch. A considerable amount of time has passed since I last saw *‘The Mask’*, which explains why I hadn't recorded it previously, and while the humor isn't as sharp or memorable as I recalled (I really enjoyed it when I was younger), there’s still plenty to appreciate and find amusing. Jim Carrey delivers a fantastic performance; without him, the movie would likely be awkward and ultimately unsatisfying. It's remarkable that he starred in *‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’*, *'Dumb and Dumber'* (which I need to watch eventually), and this film all within 1994 – what a year! Peter Greene and Peter Riegert also appear, but Cameron Diaz, making her debut, stands out as the strongest supporting performer alongside Carrey. A sequel, *‘Son of the Mask’*, was released in 2005. Based on its premise, it seems destined to be terrible, so I should probably give it a look!
