I found this film to be quite enjoyable and remarkably creative. The storytelling felt carefully managed, so it didn’t drag or feel overwhelming. A particularly memorable moment for me occurred when the accident took place and Witney lost his entire harvest; the hopelessness he experienced, coupled with the unsettlingly loud sounds of fierce Martian winds howling around the habitat, really conveyed a sense of isolation. Still, I felt that the plot was somewhat predictable. Almost every plan put forward by the different groups and organizations succeeded, propelling the story ahead without any real setbacks. This also contributed to a feeling that things were a bit too contrived; it didn't have the same level of complexity as something like Robinson Crusoe.
