Those who are already admirers of Kevin Hart’s work will likely find something to appreciate here. Otherwise, it comes across as a fairly typical Netflix film, though with some genuinely amusing moments. The movie feels familiar for anyone acquainted with Hart’s previous films; he reprises a version of himself in another outlandish and over-the-top story. It's hard to fault this approach, since Kevin Hart continues to produce movies like this because they are fun! I found myself enjoying it as much as his other projects. "The Man from Toronto" shares similarities with “Central Intelligence,” featuring action sequences, espionage elements, and shootouts. While the rapport between Hart and Harrelson isn't quite as strong as what he had with Dwayne Johnson, it wasn’t unpleasant either. There were several instances that elicited genuine laughter. It proved to be a pleasant addition to Netflix’s often-uneven selection of original movies, rising just above many of its counterparts.
