I found this movie quite enjoyable. It’s true that I've always been fascinated by the history surrounding King Richard III, and I value any film attempting to present a more accurate account. Even without that personal interest, I thought the movie was engaging and worthwhile. There were several minor alterations made from Philippa Langley’s book about her search for Richard III’s remains, but these changes seemed intended to add dramatic flair and some unusual elements, which I felt worked well. Sally Hawkins, who I admired in *Persuasion*, delivers another strong performance. Steve Coogan is excellent, offering a nuanced portrayal, and James Fleet and Mark Addy are both wonderful British actors. The inclusion of Philippa actually seeing and talking to Richard III has been done in other films before, but it seems like an attempt to account for the unusual sensations Langley describes in her book—feeling his presence even prior to confirming his burial site. I'm willing to overlook that somewhat familiar plot device because of it. The dynamic between her and her husband felt sufficiently intricate to be convincing. While I anticipated the applause scene at the film’s conclusion, it still provided a satisfying end to the narrative.
