*The Long Walk* begins with an intriguing idea, and at times the film succeeds in portraying the grim atmosphere and mental strain experienced by the participants. The story’s straightforward nature allows it to concentrate on character development and the increasing feelings of fatigue and hopelessness. However, this also leads to a sense of monotony. It's difficult to keep the act of walking and conversing visually engaging for an extended period, and the film noticeably slows down in its middle section. Some characters prove more captivating than others, and certain emotional scenes come across as somewhat forced in their attempt to resonate with viewers. Despite these shortcomings, there’s still much that is effective. The acting is good, the overall mood remains suitably dark, and the central concept continues to be unsettling even when the movie falters. I didn't actively dislike it, but it wasn't as impactful as I had anticipated. It’s worth seeing at least once, particularly for those who enjoy Stephen King’s work, though it isn’t something I expect to watch again.
