It’s not similar to the animated film, though it isn't terrible. Let's be realistic; no adaptation could truly replicate the Lion King cartoon that came before. Absolutely nothing could. Having been a devoted fan since its release, I anticipated this version wouldn't measure up. There are moments I genuinely love and others I strongly dislike. A significant disappointment was omitting Scar’s song, only including a brief snippet... so much felt missing. It possessed the potential to be improved, but frankly, I didn't think it would be even reasonably close to the original; I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be acceptable.
