Alexandra Daddario is consistently excellent; she always commits fully, and I appreciate that greatly. This holds true in _The Layover_, but the movie itself isn’t very good. The two main characters don't seem to match each other—neither the performers nor their roles—and most of the attempts at humor fall flat. The plot has felt familiar before; I’ve seen almost everything in _The Layover_ countless times. However, the resolution to the central problem is surprisingly rewarding and unique, at least to my experience. But everything that comes before it, along with a brief scene afterward, didn't really connect with me. _Final rating:★½: - Boring/disappointing. Avoid where possible._
