Robert Siodmak's _The Killers_ held my attention more than it thrilled me. A palpable sense of unease permeates every scene, creating a thick atmosphere. The film unfolds in a fragmented way, guiding the viewer through a confusing sequence of deception and secrets, which makes for a gradual unfolding of events instead of an immediate rush. It’s something that maintains your interest with its somber visuals and intricate network of falsehoods, though it didn't completely captivate me.
