Despite looking like a recipe for disaster, *’The Jurassic Games'* turns out to be enjoyable. It possesses all the elements that suggest a really bad movie: unremarkable acting, writing, and special effects. Yet, it somehow pulls off being watchable. The film shares similarities with 2007's *'The Condemned'*, but incorporates unique features such as dinosaurs and video game-style levels. The special effects are surprisingly decent; they aren’t impressive overall, but given the movie's low budget, they are quite good—certainly better than what you typically see in inexpensive science fiction films. The same can be said for the sets, cast, and David Stone Hamilton’s score. Ryan Merriman delivers a respectable performance as The Host, while Adam Hampton (as Tucker) carries the rest of the actors along effectively. I doubt I'll recall any of their work later on, but that doesn't mean what they offer is poor; their efforts are in line with the movie itself. It’s not groundbreaking cinema, but I believe it warrants some recognition for surpassing initial assumptions. I would watch it again, which isn’t always something you can say about films of this kind.
