This viewpoint is refreshing, particularly given how little attention is paid to the criminal's background. The film shares similarities with Manhunter in its narrative style. A significant strength lies in the casting choices: an actor known for comedy takes the central role and Alan Rickman appears almost completely transformed. These factors contribute to what feels like a truly exceptional and remarkable movie. It’s unfortunate that this film has largely faded from public awareness.
