The Iron Claw presents a fascinating look at how intense dedication can transform into a damaging fixation and affect a celebrated family, with performances that are notably strong and heartfelt. While there are some noticeable errors and things left out of the story, Sean Durkin manages to prompt thought about the fragile line between achievement and misfortune when striving for a family’s heritage. The wrestling scenes are handled effectively and provide a bit of enjoyment, but the deeply sorrowful narrative at its center ultimately makes it a difficult film to experience. Rating: B
