I believe it’s a worthwhile film, even though it can be difficult to watch. *The Intruder* tells a familiar story about the perils of groupthink, particularly when combined with existing prejudices. It does feel somewhat like a "white savior" narrative, but I appreciated seeing Charles Barnes' Joey get his own chance to demonstrate resilience. I found the acting performances engaging—specifically those of Frank Maxwell and Leo Gordon; Robert Emhardt is also effective as a villain. William Shatner stands out among the cast in one of his initial film appearances, delivering an intriguing portrayal that I’m sure will stick with me.
