He finds an opening at an online clothing store and becomes an intern, assisting Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway), the young woman who owns the business. I found the relationship between Jules and Ben to be the most compelling part of the story. She’s young and inexperienced, while he's wise with a wealth of business knowledge. Despite their age difference, they develop a close friendship; Ben offers support not just at work but in her personal life as well. Jules believes that hiring a new director might fix her family problems, creating a conflict between her career and her loved ones. What should she do? Will this choice help mend her marriage? It’s a difficult decision, but with Ben's guidance, she makes the right one. The movie essentially conveys the message that 'experience never gets old.' I interpret this to mean experience is always valuable, relevant, and useful, regardless of what it is. I really like this idea and enjoy the film as a whole; it’s both gentle and dramatic. The acting is such that you laugh, cry, and then laugh again. Particularly, the final scene leaves you feeling calm and peaceful—that's the kind of emotion you're left with after watching. I’ve watched 'The Intern' about six times now, and each time it brings back those same feelings. If you’re looking for something lighthearted, comforting, and heartfelt, I recommend this film. Quentin Tarantino mentioned that 'The Intern' was one of his favorite movies from the past year and praised Nancy Meyers’ script as one of her best. He also stated that Robert De Niro gave what he considered to be one of the best performances of the year, suggesting it deserved Oscar consideration.
