It’s a film that highlights differences between younger and older people. I would have to say it's the director's finest work so far. I’ve enjoyed her previous films, but this one feels quite distinct from them. The script was really well done; it seemed to understand modern life better than just focusing on relationships like usual. Adding in elements of the digital world made a big difference, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. It didn't turn out to be another 'The Internship,' which is what I initially worried about, but it’s actually much better in every way. You’ll likely find yourself agreeing with me that the film’s promotional materials—the posters or trailers—didn’t do justice to how captivating the movie really is. Two-hour films can sometimes feel long, but when a film like this runs that length, I'd happily sit through another half hour. Regardless of the story and its runtime, the pacing was fantastic. When something interesting happens, you tend to forget about any shortcomings and just enjoy yourself, which is exactly what I did here. This isn’t a laugh-out-loud comedy; it’s more comedic because of the characters involved. The story revolves around digital business, and people who work with computers are often seen as geeks. Their world is consumed by their jobs, making them forget about everything else going on around them. They even tweet to remind themselves that they've changed, but not the physical world. That’s where our older, wiser main character comes in and influences the younger generation. The cast was definitely a highlight, aside from the direction and story itself. Robert De Niro, who is 73 years old, still impresses with his exceptional performance. I don't know who they had in mind when writing the part, but it seems perfectly suited for him. And then there’s Anne Hathaway on the other side, matching De Niro’s level of quality with her role. From a narrative perspective, it began with De Niro’s point of view, but quickly shifted around to include others' perspectives in the middle. It moves from professional topics to personal lives and introduces a small family affected by their mother’s work habits. So if you go in expecting a comedy, you might be surprised—in a good way—to find a heartwarming drama with some emotional moments. I definitely recommend it, especially for young people who are hooked on the digital world! 8/10
